Why Your Daily Reflections Deserve Better Than a General-Purpose AI
I get it. ChatGPT is incredibly useful. I use it constantly for work, for brainstorming, for answering questions, for drafting things. It's genuinely one of the most versatile tools ever built.
But I keep seeing people use it as a journal. They open a new conversation, pour out their feelings, get a thoughtful-sounding response, and close the tab. And while I understand the appeal, there are practical problems with this setup that most people haven't considered.

I'm not arguing that people should stop using ChatGPT. I'm arguing that it's a general-purpose tool being asked to do a specialized job, and the gaps matter.
Use general-purpose AI for the thousand things it's great at. Use a purpose-built tool for the specific, vulnerable, compounding work of understanding your emotional life over time.
Your daily reflections deserve memory that persists. Privacy you can verify. Safety protocols designed for the worst moments. Structure that guides rather than reacts. And a system that turns individual reflections into patterns and narratives that help you understand yourself.
That's a specific job. It deserves a specific tool.
